About the Role

This highly specialized role focuses on analyzing, designing, and presenting sophisticated life insurance structures tailored to the needs of ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutional clients.  A successful candidate will bring advanced financial modeling skills, in-depth knowledge of life insurance structures and private placement life insurance in particular, and strong expertise in Excel (including VBA macros), Power Query, PowerPoint, and life insurance illustration systems to effectively develop, illustrate, and communicate customized solutions.  

The role involves close collaboration with client relationship managers, case managers, underwriters, investment managers, and legal counsel to ensure that all strategies meet our client’s objectives and stringent compliance, tax, and financial planning requirements. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with in‑force policy reviews, performance monitoring, and investment reallocations.   
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions, including VBA macros and Power Query, to construct financial models and analyze complex data sets.
  • Prepare and present polished, professional client proposals and internal presentations using PowerPoint.
  • Evaluate the impact of additional premiums, policy changes, or ownership modifications.  
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of tax law and regulations, insurance product design, and advanced planning strategies to develop and validate proposed solutions.
  • Design custom PPLI and PPVA policy structures tailored to client tax, estate, asset protection, and investment objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends, tax law changes, and emerging best practices, integrating this information into new and existing case designs. 
  • Structure PPLI policies to comply with IRC §§ 7702, 7702A, 72, 817(h) diversification requirements, the Investor Control Doctrine.  Model premium funding, optimal DEFRA death benefit structures, GPT corridor factors, Net Single Premium requirements and MEC testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or Risk Management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VBA macros and Power Query. 
  • Proven ability to develop and present professional-grade PowerPoint presentations. 
  • In-depth knowledge of private placement life insurance products, advanced life insurance planning techniques, and their associated tax and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong experience with financial modeling, data analysis, and advanced spreadsheet tools. 
  • Series 6,7 and/or 63 license, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex strategies into clear, concise presentations.
  • Variable Life Insurance License (any U.S. state) highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CLU, ChFC, CFA) are highly desirable.
